Research
USC has a suite of resources to support research, innovation and entrepreneurship.
Students
USC has over 20,000 students. The University has over 100 student clubs, including the USC Debate Team and Trojan Marching Band. The campus is also home to a student union, which offers dining options and entertainment like live music performances and movie screenings; there’s even an arcade! Students can take advantage of health services provided by the Student Health Center (SHC).
Faculty
Faculty research is critical to the University’s mission statement: “to be a preeminent centre for creative and scholarly activity in all areas of knowledge.” Faculty are encouraged to pursue their research interests. Still, they are also expected to collaborate with other faculty members and students on projects that will advance USC’s reputation as an institution dedicated to advancing knowledge through scholarship.
Research Resources
Resources available to USC researchers include:
1. Research labs and equipment are available for use by faculty, students and staff.
2. Facilities such as the Viterbi School of Engineering and other parts of campus.
3. Students who can work as research assistants or interns in your lab or studio space.

The University also supports student entrepreneurs through its Student Technology Enterprises Program (STEP), which provides funding for student-led projects that support research interests across campus while providing valuable work experience for undergraduates enrolled at USC Annenberg or Rossier School of Education.*
Innovation and Entrepreneurship
USC has several programs to promote innovation and entrepreneurship. The University is home to many successful startups, including Dollar Shave Club, Tastemade and Maker Studios.
The USC Marshall School of Business has been ranked among the best business schools in the world by Bloomberg Businessweek, Forbes and The Economist. It offers a wide range of undergraduate majors, such as management information systems (MIS), entrepreneurship & innovation management (EIM) and accounting & finance; graduate programs include:

The Office of Research Administration assists with all aspects of the research process, from proposal preparation to funding compliance. The Office also manages an extensive portfolio of facilities available to USC faculty members and students conducting research or associated activities such as seminars, workshops or teaching laboratories. In addition, many university departments offer programs specifically for graduate students interested in starting their own companies after graduation
