Campus-Life
Welcome to USC! We’re so excited to have you here. As a new student, you’ve probably already gotten an email from our Housing Department and your Resident Advisor about housing options. Still, we wanted to provide some information about the other services available on campus that may be helpful for you during your time at USC.
Trojan Family
The Trojan Family is a community of students, faculty, staff and alums dedicated to USC’s success. They promote students’ academic, social and personal development by providing opportunities for them to give back to their community.
The Trojan Family promotes lifelong friendships through mentorship programs such as Trojan Tutors in Schools (TTS) and Student Support Services (SSS). TTS pairs USC undergraduates with elementary students in Los Angeles’ inner-city neighbourhoods. SSS helps underrepresented minority high school seniors reach college readiness standards through tutoring services or summer academic camps.
Student Financial Aid
Student Financial Aid is available to all students. It includes grants, loans and work-study. The amount of aid you receive depends on your financial need, as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). If you qualify for federal student loans or grants, they will be paid directly to USC via electronic funds transfer (EFT). Suppose you do not qualify for federal student aid but still want to help pay for college expenses such as tuition, fees, books, and room & board costs. You may apply for private scholarships through the Office of Undergraduate Admissions website at http://www.uscadmissioninfo.com/scholarships/.
Work Study jobs are also available on campus through various departments such as Housing & Residential Life Services, where students can work part-time during school breaks to earn money towards their education expenses like textbooks/supplies needed throughout each semester’s coursework load, which usually totals between 12 – 15 units per quarter depending on what central path was chosen upon entering into college life here at USC Los Angeles CA 90089 USA California State University Northridge CA 91330 USA University Of California Irvine CA 92697 United States Of America University Of California Los Angeles CA 90024 United States Of America.
Housing Department
Housing is an integral part of your college experience, and USC offers a variety of housing options that can accommodate any student.
- Dorms: The most common type of student housing is the dormitory room, which usually has two people sharing one room. Students may live in single-sex or co-ed dormitories, depending on their preference and comfort level with roommates.
- Apartments: If you want more privacy than a dormitory, consider living in an apartment instead! A typical apartment has four bedrooms and two bathrooms per unit (though some have one fewer bedroom). Although these residences are typically pricier than what the average USC student can afford, they offer amenities such as pools and fitness centres that are only sometimes found in traditional dorms. Most importantly, independence!
