Premasters

The USC International Academy pre-masters program offers a rigorous, intensive and accelerated curriculum that prepares students to apply for entry into a master’s degree program. Students who complete the master’s program may be eligible to enter their chosen field of study at USC in the fall or spring semesters.

The USC International Academy has partnerships with more than 50 universities across the globe, including top-10-ranked institutions such as Harvard University, Yale University and Oxford University. Direct admission agreements allow you to apply directly to your chosen field of study without submitting applications through external websites such as Common Application or Coalition Application.

If your goal is to pursue advanced studies at one of these partner institutions after completing the master’s program, this could be an ideal choice!

Intensive English Program (IEP)

The Intensive English Program (IEP) is designed for students who must improve their English before starting their degree program. The program provides intensive language instruction and cultural training in a supportive environment that promotes student success.

Students can improve their English quickly with the help of a native English-speaking teacher who works one-on-one or in small groups. Classes are held five days per week from 9:00 a.m. – to 12:30 p.m., with lunch provided at no additional cost!

In addition to improving their conversational skills, students take classes in all academic areas, such as math, science and humanities–all taught in English only!

Master’s Preparation Program (MPP)

The Master’s Preparation Program (MPP) is a one-year program that enables students to earn their master’s degree in 12 months. Students enrolled in this program are invited to apply. They must meet the exact admission requirements as all other USC students, including holding a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and achieving a minimum GPA of 3.0 on their last 60 credits of undergraduate coursework.

MPP students must be admitted into the MPP before they can register for courses; if you want more information about how to apply, visit [https://www1.usc.edu/admission/programs/#masterprep].
