Biological Science
The Biological Science department at the University of Minnesota offers students a wide range of majors, including biomedical sciences and ecology. The most popular degree program is biology, with over 1,000 students enrolled.
The research areas that attract the most attention are genetics and genomics, neurosciences and behaviour (including psychology), plant biology/botany/ecology/systematics/evolutionary biology/systematics; cellular & molecular biology; integrative physiology & metabolism; microbiology & immunology



Education and Human Development
Education and Human Development is home to the School of Education, College of Education and Human Development, and Institute for Advanced Study.
The School of Education offers degrees at every level, from undergraduate through doctoral programs in educational leadership, curriculum studies (including early childhood), special education and teaching in multiple settings, including online environments. The school also offers an undergraduate minor in teaching English as a second language (TESOL). In addition to these degree programs, several non-degree options are available, such as certification courses or certificates offered by individual departments within each college and professional development opportunities such as conferences or workshops on topics related to teaching practice.

Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Food Systems
The College of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Food Systems is a unique and diverse academic unit that offers undergraduate and graduate programs in science, technology, business and public policy. The college has been instrumental in developing new research-based approaches to addressing global issues such as climate change, food security and sustainability, all while maintaining its long history of working with the land grant mission.
The college’s departments include Biological Sciences; Extension; Agriculture; Natural Resources & Food Systems; Animal Science Program (undergraduate) – College of Veterinary Medicine & Biological Sciences.

Law
The Law School is one of the largest in the nation, ranked #1 for its trial advocacy program. The school has a diverse student body, with more than 40% identifying as students of colour. The faculty is also diverse–more than half are women and people of colour.
The Law School boasts an active alum network that includes many leaders in their respective fields: including Supreme Court justices Sandra Day O’Connor (class of 1952) and John Paul Stevens (class of 1947); former Secretary General Javier Perez de Cuellar; former Minnesota Supreme Court Chief Justice Kathleen Blatz; former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder Jr.; current U.S. Attorney General William Barr; numerous governors, state legislators and mayors; as well as countless private attorneys working at law firms around the country.
Liberty Arts, Media, and Culture Collective (LAMCC)
Liberty Arts, Media, and Culture Collective (LAMCC) is a student-run collective that supports artistic and cultural activities at the U of M. Located in the Coffman Memorial Union, LAMCC provides a space for students to create and share their work.
The organization was founded in 2001 by students who wanted to create an accessible place to discuss ideas surrounding art, culture and politics. The goal of LAMCC has always been to create a safe environment where all voices can be heard regardless of background or experience level–which makes it an ideal place for anyone interested in getting involved with campus activism!
Management, Marketing and Business Analytics (MMBA)
The MMBA program is a professional degree that allows you to concentrate on management, marketing or business analytics. Students can also earn a minor in business administration and enrol in electives such as financial accounting and strategy. If you’re interested in learning more about data science, consider making a certificate in business analytics, which offers courses on topics like web scraping and machine learning algorithms.

Medicine, Nursing, Health Sciences and Professional Development (MNHS)
The University of Minnesota’s College of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences (MNHS) is the largest college at the University. It offers more than 100 bachelor’s degree programs; master’s degrees in medicine, nursing and health sciences; doctoral degrees in medicine, dentistry and public health; along with certificate programs in areas such as physician assistant studies or bioinformatics.
The MNHS has three schools: Medicine (at both Twin Cities Campus and Duluth Campus), Nursing & Health Sciences which has campuses in Minneapolis-St Paul as well as Duluth, Minnesota; finally, there is School for Community Innovation where students can earn an online certificate program focused on community engagement through social justice issues such as homelessness or poverty–or even learn how to start a business from scratch!

Science and Engineering (SEAS)
The Science and Engineering (SEAS) college at the University of Minnesota is one of ten colleges that make up the main campus. It offers biology, chemistry, computer science, earth sciences and physics programs.
The SEAS website says it has “one of the largest undergraduate enrollments at any public research university in America.”

Dentistry
Dentistry is a health profession that focuses on diagnosing, preventing and treating diseases, disorders and conditions of the oral cavity, maxillofacial area and the adjacent and associated structures. The dentists who practice this field are known as “dentists” or “dental surgeons”.
It is one of the oldest medical professions in existence today. Dentistry has been practised since 6500 BC when metal tools were used to remove teeth from skulls found in archaeological sites around Mesopotamia (modern-day Iraq).
Design
The College of Design is one of the largest in the country, with more than 2,500 students pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees. The college offers a strong portfolio of programs through its four departments:
