Graduate Degree
To apply, you must complete the online application. You can fill out the form at any time. The deadline to submit your Graduate Admission application is in early January. There is no fee for applying; however, if accepted into the program and enrolled in classes, a tuition deposit will be due ($500) by May 1st each year.
If you are not admitted or do not meet all requirements for admission, we will refund your tuition deposit on a pro-rated basis according to our refund policy.
You will receive an email notification once our office has received your application; this means your application still needs to be processed or approved for admission! Please note that applications may take up to 10 days before they appear in our system after being submitted online.
Field of Study
The next step is to choose a field of study. There are many factors to consider, so it is essential to consider your career goals and the job market when making this decision. For example, if you want to work in finance but are not interested in math or statistics, there may be better choices than choosing an economics degree.
Program Offerings
The department offers programs for Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), Master of Science (MS), and Certificate.Ph.D. program: The PhD degree program is designed for students who wish to pursue research careers in computer science or related disciplines and those who plan on teaching at the college level. Students must take courses from a wide variety of areas within computer science, including theory, algorithms, systems programming languages and systems software design; database management systems, artificial intelligence; human-computer interaction; graphics/visualization techniques; networking technologies, including wireless communication protocols; multimedia information retrieval techniques from text documents audio/video recordings etc.; mathematical methods for analyzing algorithms such as graph theory combinatorial optimization methods etc.
In addition, all students are expected to take at least one course outside their area of specialization, such as economics, statistics, finance, accounting marketing, management sciences, psychology, philosophy, anthropology, sociology, political science, linguistics, art history, literature, musicology, dance, theatre film studies journalism broadcast journalism photography, photojournalism cinematography, scriptwriting screenwriting directing acting production design costume design makeup special effects editing sound mixing musical composition musical direction conducting orchestral conducting choral conducting wind band percussion ensemble brass band woodwind quintet string quartet vocal soloists chamber groups orchestras symphony orchestras operas ballet companies ballets.
Standard Requirements
In addition to the standard admission requirements, you must have a bachelor’s degree and a minimum GPA of 3.0. You will also be required to take either the GRE or GMAT exam. We require international applicants to submit their TOEFL scores (minimum overall score of 79).In addition to these general requirements, we look for evidence of the following:
extensive research and writing experience in economics or another quantitative field;
Excellent academic background with at least one year of college-level calculus;

You will be assigned an academic advisor who will:
Meet with you at least once per semester to discuss progress and goals, financial aid, academic standing, graduation requirements and other issues that may be of concern.
General Exam, Academic Writing Portfolio and Statement of Purpose
The general exam is a standardized test of your ability to think critically and communicate clearly. The academic writing portfolio is a collection of your best papers demonstrating your writing proficiency at the graduate level.
The portfolio should include at least three substantial pieces (approximately ten pages each), which may be drawn from any field or subject area; however, you must also submit one additional paper to specifically address issues related to your proposed major field of study. You will be required to submit two letters of recommendation from faculty members who know you well enough to comment on how well-prepared you are for graduate studies in anthropology.
