There are lots of resources for students

There are several resources available to students. These include:

  • Tuition and admission information
  • Financial aid and grants
  • Academic programs, including course descriptions and details on how to declare a major
  • Scholarships and fellowships for faculty and staff members who want to attend conferences or do research abroad, as well as graduate students who wish to study at PSU’s Portland campus (the Lewis & Clark Graduate School)

The Student Financial Services website has all the information about paying for college. You can search for scholarships, browse financial aid and grants, learn about student loans and more.

TUITION/ADMISSION

Tuition is $36,000 per year, and you can pay in whole or instalments. If you’re a resident of Oregon, tuition is waived, but not housing or meal plans. As a student at PSU, your admission requirements are GPA and SAT/ACT scores.

The school offers various scholarships and financial aid, including Federal Pell Grants and Oregon Opportunity Grants. As a student, you’ll have access to various academic programs in business, education, engineering and other areas.

FINANCIAL AID/GRANTS

FINANCIAL AID/GRANTS

  • Financial aid is a great way to help you pay for college. Grants, unlike loans, do not have to be paid back and are awarded based on financial need.
  • Grants are different from scholarships because they come from the government or other sources (such as your employer) rather than an individual organization or company.
  • Grants can be used at any accredited school in America that participates in federal student aid programs such as FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).

While grants are usually awarded to students with a high financial need, some gifts are available for students with average income levels.

ACADEMIC PROGRAMS
  • Academic programs
  • Online programs
  • Blended learning (hybrid) courses that combine online and in-person instruction or are offered entirely online. The classes are taught by a faculty member who may also teach lessons on campus or at another site. You can participate in some of these classes asynchronously (at your own pace) or synchronously (in real-time).

SCHOLARSHIPS AND FELLOWSHIPS

SCHOLARSHIPS AND FELLOWSHIPS

  • Scholarships and fellowships are available for faculty members, staff and their dependents. These awards may be used to pay tuition, fees, books and other expenses related to your degree program. Scholarships are awarded based on merit or need. The following scholarships are open for applications:

    • Full Tuition Scholarship (FT): This award covers the entire cost of tuition for one academic year (usually the Fall term through the Spring term). You must maintain satisfactory academic progress for this scholarship to continue each year you receive it; otherwise, it will be revoked until you meet those requirements again. Students who receive this award are not eligible for any other financial aid while they hold it unless they have exhausted all other sources first (see “Other Types Of Financial Aid”). Suppose one withdraws from PSU within two weeks after classes begin without completing coursework or drop below half-time status without completing a full term at PSU. In that case, all future FT awards may be revoked retroactively back two weeks before they withdrew or dropped below half-time grade.”
STUDENT LIFE

Student life is an integral part of the university experience. Student life includes social and cultural activities and religious and spiritual activities. It also includes student organizations, student government, and student publications. In addition, academic support services are available on campus to help you succeed in your classes.

Student organizations provide opportunities for students to pursue shared interests through group projects and events such as dances or lectures. Over 250 registered clubs at PSU have over 1,000 active members! Some popular groups include:

  • The Student Government Association (SGA) provides leadership opportunities within the university community through various committees, including those focused on diversity initiatives, environmental concerns, sustainability efforts, sexual violence prevention programs, and athletics issues such as ticket sales or game day operations planning needs and many more! The SGA also helps to coordinate student activities such as Homecoming and Springfest, the annual spring concert.
