Student Central
Student Central is the place for all of your student service needs. Located within The Ohio Union, Student Central provides a single point of contact for students and their parents/guardians to access information about school-related matters such as registration, financial aid and graduation.
Student Central also manages student records, including grades, transcripts (official copies), diplomas/degrees awarded, course enrolment verification requests, change of name or address forms, university ID cards (OIDs) and more!
Student Services, Health and Wellness
Student Health Service (SHS) is a comprehensive medical and mental health centre providing student care, including primary care services, urgent care, and speciality referrals. The SHS also offers women’s health care services, such as annual exams, through a gynaecologist who comes to campus once per month.
The Student Counselling Center provides individual counselling services for students struggling with mental health issues or life stresses. The centre offers short-term individual therapy sessions and group programs for specific concerns such as eating disorders or self-esteem issues; there are also workshops for coping with stress during finals week! If you’re feeling overwhelmed by schoolwork or need someone to talk to about a point in your life, stop by this office on the first floor, west side of Drake Union Building (DUB).
Student Disability Services advocates on behalf of its clients when it comes time for academic accommodations based upon documented disabilities that may impact their ability to achieve academically within reasonable limits set forth by law; however, these accommodations do not include any special treatment beyond those allowed under the law.”
University Libraries
The University Libraries are open to all current students, faculty and staff 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The library is at 1818 N. High Street on the North Campus in Columbus, Ohio, 43210.

- How do I find a book? Search for books by Title or author’s name using the Library Catalogue at http://catalog.osu-libraries.org/. If you need help finding what you’re looking for there, try searching our subject databases instead! They contain information on thousands of topics, including journal articles from all disciplines and books on those subjects. To access these databases, click here or go directly to them by clicking on the “Subject Databases” tab above (under “Online Resources”).
- How do I borrow materials such as laptops or printers? You must create an account with OneStart (OSU’s portal) before borrowing any items from either branch library location. Once logged into OSU Online Services, click on My Account under Personal Info & Tools, then select Borrowing/Checkout Options from the dropdown menu next to your name at the top right corner of the page. Click the Edit next button under the ‘Item’ section where it says no Items Available For Checkout At This Time.” To add items, click the Add Item button to open another window asking what type of item you would like checked out. Selecting a laptop computer will automatically fill out fields like Title, Author, ISBN, etcetera based on information provided by the publisher/seller, so there isn’t much input required besides picking which one(s) best fit your needs!
OSU Extension
OSU Extension is the College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (CFAES) educational outreach program. It provides educational opportunities, resources and services to Ohio’s communities.
OSU Extension offers over 200 programs in agriculture, natural resources, community development and family and consumer sciences through its seven district offices across Ohio.
The Ohio State University Police Department
The Ohio State University Police Department (OSUPD) is a full-service law enforcement agency that protects the campus community by enforcing laws, preserving peace, protecting life and property and promoting safety on campus.
The OSUPD operates 24 hours a day, 365 days per year. In addition to patrolling the main campus and medical centre areas, they provide security at off-campus university properties such as the Gateway District and North Campus.
