Graduate Degree Application and Deadlines

The graduate degree application deadline is the same as the general admission deadline. If you are applying to multiple programs, submit a separate application and fee for each program you wish to be considered.

The Graduate Admissions Office can only accept electronic transcripts from schools that use electronic delivery systems such as Parchment, e-SCRIP-SAFE or National Student Clearinghouse. You can request an official paper copy from your previous institution(s) if needed. Still, please note that this may delay the processing of your application materials by up to two weeks due to mail service times and volume at Ohio State University’s main campus in Columbus, OH (USA).

Graduate degree program application

Applying to a graduate degree program at Ohio State is an easy process. The first step is to select the program you are interested in and create an account on our online application system, allowing you to apply for multiple programs simultaneously. You will then be prompted to submit your materials and pay any application fees required by each program. Most applications require official transcripts from all colleges or universities attended and standardized test scores (GRE or GMAT). If English is not your first language, please include a TOEFL score report with your application materials.

The deadline for most graduate programs at Ohio State is January 15; however, some schools may have earlier deadlines, so please check the website of the specific school where you wish to apply for more details about their requirements and procedures for admission into their graduate degree programs!

The graduate school admissions process

The graduate school admissions process is long and complex but more straightforward than you might think. You can do some things before and after applying to make things easier on yourself.

First, ensure the program is right for your career goals. Make sure they offer what you want regarding academic focus and opportunities for research or teaching assistantships (or other forms of financial aid). If they don’t have those things available yet but plan on adding them, ask about their timeline and any steps needed from prospective students like yourself to secure those opportunities once they become available. The last thing anyone wants after spending thousands of dollars on tuition is finding out later that there was no way forward because someone else beat them out for what seemed like an open position!
