About
The NYU Tandon School of Engineering is located in Brooklyn, New York. The school was established in 1854 as the Brooklyn Collegiate and Polytechnic Institute (BCPI). This private institution focused on engineering, science and technology education. In 1930, it merged with the University of the City of New York (now known as New York University).
In 2017, the school’s name changed from NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering to NYU Tandon School of Engineering after alumnus Tony Tandon donated $100 million to support research at both institutions.

Financial aid
The NYU Tandon School of Engineering offers a variety of financial aid options, including need-based grants, loans and scholarships. In addition to these funding sources for students with demonstrated financial need, work-study opportunities are available on campus and through our global network of alum volunteers.
Students may also be eligible for federal loans through Direct Lending or Federal Family Education Loan (FFEL) programs if they do not qualify for other types of aid. Students should carefully consider all their options before applying for one sort or another; however, some loans have better repayment terms than others, so it is essential to know what kind you are receiving before signing anything!
