Located in the heart of Greenwich Village, NYU Steinhardt is home to more than 2,000 students from around the world who study at our main campus and satellite locations throughout New York City. We offer an array of programs, including master’s degrees in Early Childhood Education; Educational Leadership; Higher Education Leadership; Special Education (including Autism Spectrum Disorders); Counseling Psychology & Mental Health Counseling; Curriculum & Instruction with concentrations in Bilingual Language Arts Education or Literacy Studies; Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). Students may also earn a certificate in Applied Quantitative Methods for Public Policy Analysis or Certificate Program for Teaching English as a Second Language through our partnership with Central Park East Secondary School/CUNY School Construction Authority Dual Enrollment Program.

Admissions

  • Applicants must have completed a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Applicants must submit a resume and cover letter.
  • Applicants must submit an essay that answers one of the following prompts: “What made me choose the field I’m interested in?” and “Why do I want to attend NYU Steinhardt?”
  • Official transcripts are required from all colleges/universities attended

Academics

NYU Steinhardt offers a range of undergraduate and graduate degree programs, including:

  • A BFA in Art Education (all majors)
  • An MA in Arts Management
  • A BA/MA dual degree program that leads to both a BA in Art History and an MA in Arts Management.

Financial aid

NYU Steinhardt is committed to helping you with the cost of a college education. Our financial aid program is designed to meet the needs of all our students, and we provide generous scholarships that do not need to be repaid. The NYU Steinhardt School offers a wide range of scholarships, grants, loans and work-study opportunities for students who wish to pursue an undergraduate degree at NYU Steinhardt.

  • We offer a variety of scholarships based on academic merit or other special criteria such as ethnic background or geographic location (i.e., New York City). You may qualify for one or more types of aid based on your unique circumstances; however, there are no guarantees that you will receive any form of financial assistance from us since each student’s situation is different.*

NYU Steinhardt is a dynamic hub for leading-edge research and practice. The School has over 200 faculty members from across the arts, education, health, public policy and social welfare fields who collaborate closely with each other and students on exciting projects that address pressing issues facing our communities today.

In addition to conducting their research projects in their respective disciplines, NYU Steinhardt faculty members also contribute to interdisciplinary initiatives such as the Center for Urban Science + Progress (CUSP), which develops technologies to improve quality of life in cities; Center on Philanthropy at Columbia University; Institute for Public Knowledge at New School University; International Migration Initiative at Fordham University Law School; Institute on Independent Media & Journalism at City College CUNY; National Survey of American Jews/Jewish Federations of North America.
