The University
NYU has been ranked as one of the best universities in the world by multiple sources, including QS World University Rankings, Times Higher Education World University Rankings and US News & World Report Best Global Universities Rankings (among others).
The Courses
The Arts & Sciences school offers more than 300 majors in the humanities and social sciences–and even more minors and concentrations–including art history, political science and economics. The School of Engineering offers programs like computer science; electrical engineering; information systems engineering management; mechanical engineering (aerospace); civil engineering (structural); biomedical engineering; chemical & biomolecular engineering; materials science & nanotechnology
Extra-curricular Life
NYU has many clubs and organizations, which means students have many opportunities to get involved in the community. This is especially true if you have interests outside of school–there might even be an organization explicitly dedicated to those interests (e.g., chess club)!
There are also plenty of academic and professional clubs; many people join because they want help with their resumes/interviews or want advice about what companies might be looking for when hiring someone fresh out of college.
The Food
The prices at NYU are pretty high compared with other universities, so be prepared to spend money if you want something nice, but it’s worth every penny because everything tastes good here!
Housing at NYU
As an NYU student, you will live in one of the many housing options available. NYU provides housing for all its students, so there’s no need to worry about finding a place to live alone. There are a variety of living arrangements from which you can choose based on how much space you want and how close you’d like your apartment or dorm room to be located.
There are several on-campus residence halls at NYU: Washington Square Village (WSN), Kimmel Center Apartments (KC), Palladium Residence Hall (PAR), University Courtyard Residences & Commons (UCR&C) and Mercer Street Residences & Commons (MCR&C). These apartments offer single rooms with private bathrooms and shared double rooms with communal bathrooms. WSN also has an option known as “The Community,” where residents share community spaces but have individual bedrooms with their lockers instead of having access through shared hallways as other dorms do. PAR offers suite-style living arrangements where four students share two bedrooms plus common areas such as kitchens/laundry rooms. In contrast, UCR&C offers single rooms only but includes perks like free laundry services every day between 7 pm – 11 pm every day except Friday nights when they’re closed until 9 am Saturday due to cleaning staff working overtime during those hours.”
Living in New York City
NYC is a great place to live, and it’s also a great place to visit. There are so many things to do in New York City! You can see Broadway shows, take in some art galleries or museums, try out some delicious food (and drink), walk around Central Park or Prospect Park–the list goes on and on.
NYC has an incredible history you can learn about whenever you stay there. You could spend months exploring all this city offers without getting bored once!
