High School Programs & Scholarships
The NYU Office of Undergraduate Admissions:Â Continuing Education offers high school programs at all levels. High school students can choose from the following:
- Advanced Placement (AP) Summer Institute and AP Summer Program occur during June and July and offer college credit to students who score well on their exams. The AP Summer Institutes are open to rising 9th through 12th graders; the AP Summer Programs are available to advance 7th through 10th graders who have taken an introductory course in math or science within the past year or two.
- College Now is a dual-credit program that offers high school and college credit for courses taken during summer semesters at NYU Tisch School of Arts’ professional schools (such as Drama School). Students must be juniors or seniors when they apply for this program; if accepted, they will attend classes in person for four days per week throughout their junior year before returning home for senior year, where they complete their remaining credits online from home with guidance from mentors at NYU Steinhardt School’s Department of Teaching & Learning Technologies (DLT).
Summer Programs for High School Students
NYU offers a variety of summer programs for high school students, including:
- Summer Programs for High School Students. This program is an excellent way to explore and discover new interests. You’ll study with NYU faculty members and participate in workshops led by experts in the field. You may even get the chance to conduct research or attend lectures by renowned scholars from around the globe! The program runs from June 25 through August 1 (or longer).
- Summer Research Program on Law & Social Justice at NYU School of Law. This unique opportunity gives students an inside look at how the law works today–and helps them prepare for college by developing critical thinking skills necessary for success in college courses like philosophy or history classes that require analysis of complex texts written centuries ago! Students will work closely with professors specializing in criminal justice reform policymaking processes, police misconduct litigation, civil rights litigation strategy development, prisoner reentry programs evaluation methodologies…and more!
Middle School Programs & Scholarships
NYU offers two middle school programs: one in Manhattan and one in Brooklyn. Both are open to students who live within the city limits and those who commute from other boroughs. Students must be enrolled full-time, which means they must be present for all classes each day and cannot participate in outside activities that would interfere with their studies (such as sports). However, some exceptions are made for extracurricular activities that take place during or after school hours (such as music lessons).
NYU also offers scholarships for incoming first-year students who attend public high schools within the city limits of New York City; these scholarships are available regardless of whether or not you have already received an offer from another college or University. Scholarships range from $7000-$15000 per year based on financial need and academic performance–you’ll find more information about these opportunities here.
Summer Programs for Middle School Students
NYU offers summer programs for middle school students in the arts, science, and math. Whether you’re interested in learning how to code or want to explore art history and architecture at one of NYU’s many museums, you have plenty of options!
The Summer Learning Program (SLP) focuses on academic enrichment through courses that teach critical thinking skills, teamwork abilities, leadership qualities and more. The program runs from June 3 until August 10 this year–so there’s still time to apply!
