Map of the NYU campus

NYU is located in New York City, where it occupies several campuses. The main campus is at 5 Washington Place, while the Silver School of Social Work and other programs are on nearby streets. The NYU Medical Center can be found across the street from Bellevue Hospital.

NYU’s main campus is Greenwich Village, Manhattan, a vibrant neighbourhood for students to explore during their free time. Many restaurants and shops nearby cater specifically to NYU students’ needs (and budgets).

Parking at NYU

NYU is not a commuter school, and the lack of parking on campus makes finding a spot difficult. Students are encouraged to use public transportation or carpool with friends. If you decide to drive, plan by reserving your space in advance through the NYU Transportation Services website or by calling 212-992-8100 (M- F 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.).

Parking at NYU can be expensive: The average annual cost is $614 per year ($51/month). Please note that while many students qualify for discounted rates based on their residency status or financial need, these options are limited and often sell out quickly; therefore, reserving your spot as soon as possible after arriving on campus is essential!

All parking spaces at NYU are restricted exclusively for students, faculty members, staff members and visitors who have obtained a permit from Transportation Services before arrival. This means that if someone without one tries driving into any lot without permission from us first–even if it’s just because they know where there isn’t any security guard around–they could get ticketed immediately!
