Libraries

Welcome to the NYU Libraries! We are a campus-wide network of libraries and information centres with over 2.2 million print books, e-books, and over 6 million digital items, including journal articles, datasets, videos, and more. Our collections are organised around 19 subject areas ranging from Anthropology to Visual and Environmental Studies. Each department’s unique collection reflects its scholarly interests and research specialisation. The main library is Elmer Holmes Bobst Library. It was recently renovated in 2010 by architect Frank Gehry, who designed the building to look like an ocean liner, also known as “The Ship”. There are also many other unique locations on campus, such as The Jerome Robbins Dance Division (JRD), W.C. Performing Arts Library Special Collections & Archives (Fales Library), Department of Musical Instruments & Materials Study Room (Department of Music), Performing Arts Center Studios: Dance Studio 102 – 103 – 104 / Vocal Studio 101; Computer Science Library; Jerome L Greene Hall Learning Commons (JCRC)
