NYU’s main campus in Washington Square is open 24 hours, and it’s a great place to visit if you’re in New York City. You can find many things to do and see at NYU, including:
- The George Washington University Hospital (GWUH) is one of the top hospitals in America for medical research, education and patient care.
- The International Center for Health & Medicine (ICHM) offers training programs for medical professionals worldwide on emergency medicine or palliative care.
Visitors may purchase a parking permit at the visitor centre in Rosenthal Pavilion. Fees are listed here.
Visitors may purchase a parking permit at the visitor centre in Rosenthal Pavilion. Fees are listed here. All vehicles on campus require a parking permit, including motorcycles, scooters and mopeds. Visitor Parking Permits are valid in any unmetered space or time-limited zone on campus except for areas identified by signage as restricted to certain vehicles (e.g., handicapped rooms).
For security reasons, all visitors must register with the Department of Public Safety before they visit NYU facilities.
All visitors must be registered before they enter NYU facilities. This includes parents and family members, as well as friends who are visiting you on campus. A valid photo ID is required for registration. You can complete the online form or pick up a visitor registration form from the Department of Public Safety (DPS) office at 6 Washington Place, New York City.

The school provides maps and directions to many locations on the campus.
The NYU website has maps and directions to many locations on campus. Maps can also be found in the visitor centre, which is open 24 hours a day. The visitor centre is in Rosenthal Pavilion (Washington Square South and LaGuardia Place).
NYU welcomes visitors.
Visitors to NYU are welcome to campus 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Visitor Center is located in Rosenthal Pavilion (formerly known as “the Arm”) at the corner of Washington Square South and LaGuardia Place.
Visitor parking lots are available on the north side of Bleecker Street between LaGuardia Place and Thompson Street or south of Bleecker Street between MacDougal Street and West Third Street. There are also visitor spots in front of the Kimmel Center for University Life (UCLL), which houses many services for visitors, including a bookstore and cafe.
