Early & Regular Decisions

The Decision Information section of the NYU website is where you can find information on how your application will be evaluated and what happens if you are accepted. In this article, we’ll go over some of the most important things to know about how the decision process works at NYU and what it means for prospective students.

Early Decision

Early Decision is the way to go if you’re looking for a guaranteed seat at NYU. You must apply by November 1 and be accepted by December 15–but once you’ve been taken, you must enrol in the school that got you. This means that if another school offers more money or prestige than NYU does (which is unlikely), you won’t be able to go there because of your binding contract with NYU.

Early Decision applicants are also required to participate in an interview process. If they don’t live near campus or aren’t able or willing to fly out for an interview (or if their school doesn’t offer consultations), they won’t qualify as ED candidates either!

Regular Decision

The regular decision application deadline is January 1. You can apply to other schools and NYU, but if both accept you, you’ll have to make a choice (and we’d advise against choosing one over the other).

If you apply early action or early Decision elsewhere and get denied, don’t fret: there’s still hope for you! You need to wait until October 15–the last day of our regular application period–to submit your application through our standard process instead of an early-decision one.

Non-binding Early Action

You can apply early Decision and Regular Decision, but not both.

If you want to join the NYU community, you’ll want to apply early action. This option allows students who are sure about their choice of school to use it earlier than usual and receive an admission decision by early December. Unlike some other schools’ versions of this application process (such as Harvard’s), NYU does not require applicants who choose this route to commit themselves if accepted; instead, they’ll be given an opportunity for early enrollment at NYU before any other student has been notified about their status in the regular admissions cycle.

International Students

NYU is an excellent place for international students. The university has a diverse student body, with students from all over the world. Many have studied in English-speaking countries and are therefore familiar with American culture. The excellent reputation that NYU has earned over many decades makes it attractive to international students. In addition, many resources are available at NYU, such as career counselling services and scholarships that can help you pay for your education there (you can see more about these on our website).

NYU’s location means it’s easy for you to travel around New York City or even outside of it if necessary–the city offers so much variety! You can visit museums like MoMA (Museum of Modern Art), explore Central Park or Times Square, and enjoy Broadway shows… There are many opportunities for fun activities nearby as well; take advantage of some free days where admission costs nothing! Last but certainly not least: NYU offers an excellent value-for-money ratio compared with other schools around this price range because its tuition fees cover most expenses required throughout one’s four years at university (including books!).

NYU is a great place to be

NYU is a great place to be. It’s a great place to get an education and a great place to get a job. NYU has one of the best graduate programs in the world, so if you’re looking for an MBA or something else related to business or finance, this is definitely where you want to go!

NYU has excellent undergraduate programs as well–you can study anything from art history and sociology to engineering at their Tandon School of Engineering (ranked 4th best engineering school in America).

If those aren’t enough reasons why you should attend NYU? Well then, maybe living conditions will convince you: most dorms have air conditioning units installed now, so no more sweating during the summer months!
