Knowing the application deadlines is essential if you’re applying to Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. Here’s everything you need to know about IUPUI admission deadlines and how early you can use them:
Early Decision Program
IUPUI is not a member of the early decision program.
If you’re interested in applying to IUPUI through Early Decision, be sure to check out the following information:
- How do I apply? Complete the Common or Coalition Application and submit it by November 1st. Applications received after this date will not be considered for early decision admission.* What are my chances of being admitted? Our admissions office makes offers based on our capacity for new students and your academic performance and personal qualities (such as leadership, creativity, and involvement). So, even if you don’t get an offer immediately, don’t give up hope! You may still have a chance at being accepted into another term.* Are there any benefits to taking part in this process? Yes! If we offer you admission under our Early Decision Program (EDP), we want you here! That’s why we guarantee that if an EDP applicant meets specific requirements during their first year at IUPUI – including maintaining good academic standing – they will automatically receive their second-year tuition waiver.* Can I apply for EDP again next year if I wasn’t accepted now? No need! Once an applicant has been accepted through EDP, they cannot reapply until after one full academic year has elapsed from their initial application date
Early Action Program
The Early Action Program is a non-binding admissions process for students wishing to be considered early. Students who apply by November 1 will receive notification of their admission decision by mid-December. Students admitted through Early Action may still apply for financial aid or housing at any time during the regular application period, which begins on January 1st of each year and ends on April 1st (the last day of classes).
Regular Decision Program
Regular Decision Program applicants must submit their complete application by January 15 and will be notified of their admission decision by April 1. Early Decision Program (EDP) applicants should submit their complete applications by November 1 of the year before enrollment and will receive notification of admission decisions by December 15. The Early Action Program (EAP) requires that you submit your complete application by November 1 or December 31, whichever comes first. However, there are exceptions for international students who may apply after February 1st; they will hear back by mid-March.
Transfer Applicant Deadlines
The transfer applicant deadline is July 1. The Office of Admissions will begin reviewing transfer applications on August 1, and students will be notified of their admissions decision by mid-October.
All documents must be submitted by July 15! If you are applying for financial aid, please submit the FAFSA by March 1 to ensure funds are available in time for registration.
Official transcripts from all colleges attended must be received by IUPUI’s Office of Admissions by July 15th if you wish to participate in this fall semester (unless otherwise noted). Please use an official transcript service such as Parchment or National Student Clearinghouse when sending your documents electronically- only mail hard copies directly from the schools if requested explicitly by IUPUI!
