Admissions

The Admission Process is an essential step in the life of every student. It requires a thorough understanding of the requirements and procedures involved in admission and a commitment to complete all forms on time. Every applicant (new or returning) must go through this process before they can begin their studies at IU.

Admission Requirements:

All students must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for admission into any program:

  • One academic year course at an accredited university or college with a GPA of 2.5 or above on a 4-point scale; OR 2 years of relevant work experience with excellent recommendations from previous employers; OR 3 years (or more) related training/education from recognized institutions with outstanding performance records; AND
  • English proficiency test score (TOEFL/IELTS); AND
  • For non-native speakers of English, proof that they had lived outside their home country for at least two years immediately before the application date (e.g., a birth certificate showing the date when the mother gave birth). All required documents should be submitted before finalizing the admission process so we can make sure everything goes smoothly without delay!

Student & Scholar Services

The Student and Scholar Services Office (SSSO) is a department within the IU School of Public Health-Bloomington. The SSSO provides counselling, advocacy and support services for international students enrolled in an academic program at IU. All staff members come from diverse backgrounds with expertise in cross-cultural communication skills for international students. Our mission is to help you succeed academically and personally during your stay at IU!

The SEO offers many services, including:

  • Advising on immigration matters related to F1 visas or J1 visas
  • Assisting with registration issues such as credit transfer requests or registration problems due to technical difficulties during the registration period
  • Conducting workshops on topics such as cultural adjustment issues related to living abroad; budgeting tips for international students; how best practice communication skills can help overcome barriers when interacting with others (especially those who speak different languages than yours); overcoming personal challenges such as homesickness/depression while adjusting culturally etc

Training & Workshops

Training and workshops are two essential offerings.

There are two types of training: the full-day sessions, which take place at our headquarters in Bloomington and cost $400, and the half-day sessions, which take place at your office or another location of your choice (you’ll need to provide a room) and cost $300. These prices include lunch for all attendees–yum!

You can apply for either type by emailing [email protected].

If you’re interested in booking one of these training or workshops but are still looking for something that fits your needs, please let us know what kind of topic would interest you most! We’re always looking for new topics so we can deliver them to our clients as soon as possible.

Study Abroad

Studying abroad is a great way to expand your horizons and see the world. It’s also an excellent opportunity for students to improve their language skills, make new friends around the globe, and learn about other cultures.

If you’re interested in studying abroad, here are some things to keep in mind:

Study abroad programs range from short-term summer classes (for example) to full semesters or years living on another continent. To find out which option might be right for you, think about what kind of experience interests you most–and then do some research! You can start by visiting our website at www[.]iu[.]edu/study abroad/faq/.
