UIC is a large university with 38,000 students and over 8,500 faculty members. The student body comprises 17 per cent of international students from over 100 countries.

UIC also has a large staff to support its students, faculty and researchers. More than 1,300 full-time staff members work alone in UIC’s Student Support Services office!

The campus is home to the nation’s only federal health sciences university centre, including the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA)

The campus is home to the only federal health sciences university centre in the nation, including the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA). The NCSA is a supercomputing centre that helps researchers from all over the world by providing access to their servers and software. It also offers free workshops on using its technology, which can help take any computing or science research classes at UIC.
