The Office of Parent & Family Programs provides parent education classes, workshops, parenting support groups and websites for parents. Columbia University Parents & Families is a community of current students’ parents, guardians and family members.
They provide information, resources and support to help you as you navigate through the college admissions process with your student.
Part-Time Faculty and Staff Benefits
Part-time faculty and staff members are eligible for the same benefits as full-time employees. These include health, dental, life insurance, long-term disability and retirement. Benefits are offered through the Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association (TIAA).

Parents & Guardians at Columbia University
Parents and guardians of students at Columbia University are encouraged to be involved in their child’s education. Parents and guardians can:
- Attend an Open House for new students held each fall near the beginning of the academic year;
- Participate in information sessions about financial aid, available through the Office of Financial Aid; and
- Join our Parent Advisory Board (PAB).
