In the world of education, there are many things to consider. Not only do you have to go through the application process and ensure that your grades are up to par, but many schools also require an application fee. Fortunately, Columbia University will waive some or all of its admissions fees if you meet specific requirements.

Undergraduate Admissions Application Fee

The Undergraduate Admissions Application Fee is a one-time payment that covers the cost of processing your application. It does not apply to applications submitted to Columbia Business School or Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science, which have separate fees.

The fee must be paid before an undergraduate applicant will be considered for admission, regardless of whether or not they are granted an interview

Fee Waivers

Fee waivers are available for students who can demonstrate financial need. Fee waivers are unavailable for international students, transfer students, or applicants applying to Columbia College or the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.

Fee Waivers Requirements

You must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident You must be a high school student currently in need of financial aid Your GPA must be 2.5 or higher (on a 4-point scale) Your SAT score must be 1200 or higher

How to apply for Fee Waivers

To apply for a fee waiver, complete the Common Application and submit it online. To be eligible for a fee waiver, you must provide proof of financial need, such as a copy of your tax return or income statement.
